The internet is not in short supply of reselling platforms such as, Poshmark and Ebay. Sure, you’re making a killing on Ebay and or Poshmark, why stop there, CROSS LIST! Cross listing is taking your available listings and relisting them onto another platform. There are many benefits of cross listing, of course with the pro’s come the cons. Lets discuss, shall we?
Congrats, you have enough sanity to take on another reselling platform! Don’t put all of your eggs in one basket, cross list! Cross listing is a great way to effectively boost your sales, profits and exposure. Not only are you exposing your products to an entire new platform, you are also creating your very own competition.
Pros:
-Double the Exposure
In order to make sales, your items need to be seen. Cross listing your items on to another platform will showcase your items to millions of people. If you’re feeling adventurous you could even sell worldwide on Ebay. I highly suggest NOT listing your items for worldwide shipping. I have done this, I have been burned, I have lost money and my damn mind. It’s a pain in the honeybuns. No, that’s not a type-o, I really said honeybuns.
-Increased profits
More listing more money, it’s that simple. Not everyone is on Poshmark, and not everyone is on Ebay. I have sold items that were not selling on Poshmark, on ebay as soon as I listed them.
-Create your own competitive pricing.
Creating your own competitive pricing is my secret weapon. If you are a bit crazy like myself, before you purchase something online, you do a quick google search to see if you can find it somewhere else cheaper. Your Poshmark and ebay listings show up within Google search, even when you go to Google Shop. Sometimes I will list my Poshmark items just a bit higher than my Ebay items and vice versa. Creating those price differences has proven to bring buyer to both of my online shops, raising the odds of bundled orders.
-Ability to sell more than just clothing
We all have stuff besides clothing that we want to sell however, Poshmark does not allow you to list certain items. Below is a statement directly from Poshmark, stating what items are not compliant to list within their platform.
“We do not condone the buying or selling of electronics, cell phones, books, dvds, home goods, used makeup, used underwear, any health and wellness products (examples include lotions, body wash, diet supplements, protein powder, body wraps, breast pumps, curling irons and hair straighteners), non-fashion kids/baby items (examples include but are not limited to toys, bedding, strollers, bottles, formula, diapers and miscellaneous gear) and current airline and airport uniforms and related items (which include pilot, flight attendant, TSA, baggage attendant gate agents and all other flight and ground crew uniforms). Any listings in these categories will be deleted. Members who repeatedly attempt to sell such items risk permanent suspension from Poshmark.”
Just because you can’t list it on Poshmark, does not mean you can’t sell it somewhere else! It takes 2 minutes to make an ebay.com account. Do yourself a favor and make an ebay account. You will be able to sell and list so much more, resulting in an increase of profits!
Cons:
-Time consuming
With the good comes the bad however, from experience this is the only downfall. Selling on multiple platforms may become time consuming. It is very important to answer potential customers in a timely fashion. You will be receiving questions and offers from all over the place, that’s a good thing! Just take a deep breathe, maybe a shot of Fireball and GET IT DONE!

Organize
Organizing inventory is my least favorite thing about reselling. There is not 1 thing about organizing I enjoy, not going to lie about that, but of course it has to be done. I find organizing in the summer to be the most beneficial time of the year to do so. When I organize I put my items into categories, andsizes. Let’s say I have a red Valentino dress listed for sale, that dress would be hanging up in my dress section in size order. I use portable closets to hang up and keep my folded items in. I used to use bins but, every time I needed to get an item which would be every other day, I found myself rummaging through the rest of the items and it just looked sloppy.

Most of us are working on our tans and summer fun however, fall and winter fashions are already being previewed within the fashion industry. Don’t wait till the leaves start to change pretty colors to look for fall and winter fashion trends. Do your research now and start to look for affordable sourcing options for the upcoming season.
Go Thrifting
Summer thrifting is the best! So many people are out of town, on vacation, traveling etc… Thrift stores are empty, and I speak from experience. Every weekend I go thrifting at the Goodwill outlet and every weekend (during the summer) I find that I have the store almost to myself. I have free range of every rack, bin and cart. There are no nosey shoppers looking at what I am looking at, no competition and no lines. I find the best items in the summer months, which I load up on. People love cleaning their closets out during the spring and summer, and lots of those items end up and thrift shops. I can’t express my excitement enough; summer thrifting is a MUST!
Garage Sales
Tis the season for garage sales and lemonade stands, yaye! No, I’m not telling you to go make a lemonade stand but…if you really want to, I won’t stop you. There is no need to explain how popular garage sales are during the summer, I’m sure you see plenty of those. Garage sale hopping is a thing, or at least for me it is. I round up all of the local garage sales in my area for the day, and I check them all out. You can find everything and anything at a garage sale. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. When people get don’t use things, they lose value to the person, so they are willing to just sell it for whatever. I have scored some seriously fancy items lately from garage sales. I purchased an authentic Dooney and Bourke tote for $3! Of course, before you purchase designer items, take the time to try to authenticate it as much as you can, and never list garage sale or thrifted items for sale unless you can 100% authenticate it. I find my sources on my local Facebook community groups and boards as well as Facebook market place. All you have to do is post “Who is having a garage sale?” You’d be surprised how many people respond. I’ve done this while on a getaway in Boston and it worked as well. You can also use websites like “Garagesaletracker.com” or “yardsalesearch.com“
Take Time Off
It’s summer, enjoy it! If reorganizing, taking new photos or garage sale/ thrifting is not your ideal summer goals, take a break. Summer always seems to pass so fast, take time to enjoy the little things. You are not a machine, sales drop and that’s normal, it happens to every business no matter how big or small. Take some time to reflect on the success you have created and how you can improve and grow. The internet is not going anywhere, you can login whenever you want. Summer only lasts for so long, enjoy it!

Kate Brosnahan Spade was born on December 24, 1962 in Kansas city. She went to St. Teresa’s academy and graduated from there. She was very disciplined, the catholic high school, in fact was popular for making its students the most disciplined. She had a cute sister by name Rhetta. Kate enrolled at the University of Kansas and later transferred to Arizona State University where she studied Journalism.
How She Entered The Fashion Industry- Kate Spade As A Brand
Spade worked in the department of accessories of Mademoiselle, Manhattan. While working here, she met Andy Spade, brother of the famous David Spade and married him in the year 1994. In 1991, she quit Mademoiselle, by then she was a senior fashion editor. Kate was very quick at grasping things, she had noticed that there was a huge market for fashion handbags. She decided to create her own line of stylish handbags. She wasted no time in turning things her way and began working on her ideas. She explored the local markets, researched on various styles and fabrics and came up with a line in 1993 that was superior in fabric and unique in colors and shapes.
This clearly shows that Kate was a very creative person with a passion for fashion. She was also an achiever- creating her own line in the world of fashion and getting them sold in high-end stores such as Bloomingdale’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, to mention a few, was no easy job. Her handbags were an instant hit with the masses, they were popular for being creative to the core.
Success was synonymous to Kate. She, along with her husband Andy Spade, were successful in creating sleek and splendid handbags. The colors were striking and moreover the shapes, utilitarian. She partnered with her husband and the two took their business to international levels. In 1996, Spade got the recognition she deserved- she was honored by the Council of Fashion Designers of America with the ‘America’s New Fashion Talent in Accessories’ award. The council also recognized her for her collection of home items and bestowed her with three awards- House Beautiful’s, Elle Decor’s and Bon Appetite’s award.

Kate started expanding from fashion handbags to other items such as eyewear, shoes, paper goods, cosmetics and got them featured in over 450 stores across the globe. However in 1999 the couple sold their business to Neiman Marcus Group, that was sold to Fifth and Pacific in 2006. The couple were active with the brand, however.
Manners, Styles And Occasions were Kate’s three books where she shared her philosophies and personal style. In 2006, the couple also invested in a television network, Plum TV that broadcast privileged vacation spots. They, in 2016 launched a new fashion endeavor, Frances Valentine. The same year, they came up with products that were Minnie- Mouse themed. There were also phone accessories besides jewelry.
Kate was an idol to young American girls. She had an unmatched dedication for her work and her husband supported her all along. The couple balanced their personal and work life, and gave all attention to their child.
Death
June 5, 2018 was a tragic day for the fashion industry. Kate Spade committed suicide in her Park avenue apartment. Her family and friends are devastated, it was least expected! A woman so courageous and who took on entrepreneurial challenges to prove her worth was no more! She was just 55. She has left behind her husband and child, Frances Beatrix Spade.

It was on some interview that people got to know Kate wanted to quit from her business and she made up her mind when her daughter was born. She wanted to quit long back, but her husband always encouraged her to move on. He knew she was a special woman with extraordinary capabilities, so he always wanted her to continue with her passion, even with the biggest of financial troubles. Kate did not want to continue as she feared losing money, she also wanted to spend some quality time with her family, especially her daughter. She valued family time and made sure her family had dinner together, every night. She also wanted to be there for her daughter even for the smallest of things. She coped with the stress of being a mom and business person- she was such a bold lady!
Kate was always unique, so were her products. When she first came up with a designer handbag line, she sewed her brand name outside of the bag, as against the inside labels with other brands. This helped her grab attention and the modern, cosmopolitan American women went full length to own a Kate spade handbag.
Kate always thought into the future. She knew the pulse of the teenage girls and young working women and came up with bags that suited the budgets of different classes. She was iconic! Even though she was not obsessed with fashion in her early years, working with Mademoiselle magazine was a turning point in her life. She quickly identified the gaps in the fashion industry and wanted to fill them before anyone did. She was innovative and capable. However she was very careful when it came to money matters, she did not find it a good idea to continue with the business when she thought the couple were losing money. It was only at the insistence of her husband that she kept moving.
Today, the fashion industry and especially the people associated with her brand are shocked. The woman in whom they saw a character of go- get, and who was an entrepreneur by choice, had committed suicide! The New York police have confirmed suicide by hanging.

Waste no time in seeking assistance and you will be ready to take on life’s challenges better than ever! It is just that sometimes your mind is not ready to accept challenges or does not want to deal with certain saddening situations, but you need to! Life is all about uncertainty and you need to be strong and confident. However your mind also sometimes feel sick just like your body and to get back to a state of mental well-being is no difficult task, provided you seek help at the right time. The world is a big place and you have a beautiful life ahead. Why take your life when you can enjoy it to the fullest with a bit of help?
You need to come out with an open mind and speak to your closest family member or friend. If you are not okay with this, professional counselors are always there to help you! Consult and transform your life! Be happy!! Nothing stays forever in this world and nobody is perfect. You just need to cope with things and people in your life.
